Re: Idea: Making the Last Stand less boring

I'm certainly surprised to see this thread on the front page again! Anyway, everyone has made good points and I see many people do like the idea. I don't think I was clear in the first post, but I didn't necessarily want to make the Flagship weaker . In a way, it would be stronger as it would have a...

Osprey? Sub-par? Due to a lack of cloaking? http://img809.imageshack.us/img809/8888/ospreybestship.jpg News to me! Never had a problem with the lack of cloak; the Osprey lends itself well to having a boarding party right out of the gate, and due to its artillery beam you don't need to spend very muc...

Re: Sudden, shocking failure of design

Don't assume that everyone has the same gaming experience you do. It's quite common to reach the boss and not know that holy hell it does things that aren't found in any other part of the game. Cloaking really isn't necessary to win the fight, but it sure as heck helps. If you don't have cloaking (w...

Re: Sudden, shocking failure of design

I'll have to agree there; but having the flagship have the exact same abilities every time just results in boredom for you when you kill the rocketman with your mantis boarders for the fiftieth time. Not much better than absolute frustration for newer players. I made this suggestion long ago about i...

Re: Sudden, shocking failure of design

Not really. Destroying the drone control makes the power surge more survivable by removing two drones (and stopping the boarding drone) but the second form's power surge is still a massive kick to the nether regions to newer players. . . and lots of more experienced players who didn't manage to get ...

Re: Who says Fed A is underpowered again?

Osprey is certainly weaker than the Kestrel early on due to the lack of missiles. The layout itself, I think, is better than the kestrel's, except for the part where defense drones have trouble covering the whole thing, anyway. The nice thing about it is that the Osprey is fairly self-sufficient and...

I still hear it. The cheering of my crew about to slay the last crew member, followed by pained screaming as their moment of glory was cut short by one of the most powerful weapons in the game and an inattentive captain.

Who says Fed A is underpowered again?

Those people are silly, and if they insist, they can talk to the Rising World, which pulled off its best run yet. Cloak is for the WEAK and COWARDLY. I did get rather lucky, and limped into the Crystal sector with one hull after taking a huge beating in the Sector 7 Rock Homeworlds, but the results ...

Re: Easy Mode NOT EASY ENOUGH!

Level two doors in particular are a very good investment; they're cheap and they will save your butt, especially in mantis sectors.

Re: Which ship is the most blue-option friendly one?

Crew-wise is probably the Osprey, since it has a diverse crew, with three non-humans.
