Re: [MOD][RELEASED] Sonata 7 TC

Really looking forward to the finalized version of this! Unfortunately so far I've been stumped with trouble with the file extension. Since I run FTL through Wine on Ubuntu (admittedly I'm fairly new to the OS), it doesn't seem like a simple renaming of .zip to .ftl has been working; no matter how m...

Re: [FotF] Final Ships v0.03 + Mantis Combat Simulator v0.01

Ooo, really looking forward to the final product of FotF!

Playing a 7-hull scout with no cloak, drones, or zoltan shields in Infinite Space is getting just a little disheartening

Re: What would you like to see in sequels/expansions?

I'd also like to see an open universe with exploration. The existing combat/systems management mechanics work well. But think how interesting the game would be if it also had a procedurally generated universe to explore, trade, etc. I think someone posted this earlier in the thread, but the "I...

Re: What would you like to see in sequels/expansions?

For everyone who keeps requesting an "Infinite" sandbox mode, there's a mod for that . It's still being worked on, but is playable in its current form. While you can't control which sectors you hop to (no backtracking across Mantis Homeworld nodes, for instance), it's still a great deal o...

Re: What would you like to see in sequels/expansions?

Haha overall it seems like most people are in general agreement with things that could be added. What do you guys think about multiple ship combat? Like, there are lots of cases where you're escorting some ship or the like; I wonder if it'd be cool to not just command a single ship but an entire fle...

What would you like to see in sequels/expansions?

Forgive me if there's a topic about this already (didn't see one?), but even if it's still rather early I'm curious as to what people think would be great to see in FTL2 or an expansion, if there will ever be such a thing. In FTL the only thing I found less than stellar after a few playthroughs is t...

Re: Favorite Parts of FTL

Personally while I find the overall game to be luck-based[...] In all fairness to the game, the word "luck-based" means (ostensibly) that the core gameplay is based on luck. An example would be Candyland. It's all luck. FTL, on the other hand, like Poker, has a heavy luck element. Some pe...

Re: Just won... As I blew up?

When both ships blow up, it doesn't count as a "victory" on the scoreboard I'm guessing?

Re: Favorite Parts of FTL

I agree the music is excellent. Personally while I find the overall game to be luck-based, the micromanagement (crisis management) is very entertaining and unique. Definitely reminds me of Star Trek ("Beam them over, Scotty! GIORDI FIX THOSE ENGINES!! Commander Worf...please stop missing...Nice...
